4

Waaaay back in June, my "baby" turned four.
I still can't get over how much she's grown in the last year.
This year she had very specific requests for her cake:
1. It needs to be cupcakes in the shape of a butterfly.
2. It HAS to be pink and purple!
Since we have people that we love both here in Indiana and in Michigan, we had two parties.  Lucky girl!
Marley was so excited to have people there from mine and Jim's families, as well as some of her friends from preschool, along with our favorite babysitter...
and cousins!
Our Indiana party was a little delayed this year, to accommodate for as many schedules as possible, so we spent her actual birthday in Michigan.
Jill and her family treated Marley to ice cream sundaes on the evening of her birthday, which she just LOVED!
Look at that face!
Our friend "G" was feeling extra festive, so she donned her special mask.
Those girls crack me up!  Visiting with them is like spending time with family.

A few days later we had a bigger party at Grandma and Papa's house.
Check out her face.  Art supplies really got her going!

And who doesn't love a kitty to snuggle?
This is Denise, the giver of all things artsy...
Before the evening was over, there were lots of hugs all around...
a bedtime story with Grandma...
plans to help Papa water his flowers and feed the birds tomorrow...
...and then she was sound asleep.
We have so many people who love us, pray for us, and look after us in many different ways.
We are truly blessed!

Christmas Celebrations

This weekend was the weekend for Christmas parties!
First, we went to Lisa's house to celebrate with
Jim's side of the family.
We missed him, but it was so nice to see all of them.

One of the most precious moments of that afternoon was when Marley opened this gift from Tom.
This monkey has followed us everywhere we've gone over the past twenty-four hours(even to the grocery store)!  It is presently snuggled up next to her in bed.

After time with the Dillon side of the family, we met up with the Payne side at the Beef House.
The kids got numerous compliments from the
waitresses on how well-behaved they were.
We were so proud of them!

Then it was off to Mom and Dad's for gifts,

along with some relaxing and chatting.

Then we all gathered 'round while Dad read the Christmas Story from the Bible.  It's something we've done every Christmas for as long as I can remember.  It's one of my favorite traditions.
We all got a black-bottom cupcake with a candle in it and sang Happy Birthday to Jesus.

Mom made the girls some adorable nightgowns.  The girls all put theirs on right away.
They looked so cute!

Look at the ornery looks being exchanged between the two in purple.  Cracks me up!

This is was a great day.
I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful family!
